A workmanship guarantee covers how the work was done. A product warranty covers the item itself. Insurance-backed cover protects you if the contractor is no longer trading.
Workmanship guarantee
This is the contractor standing behind the installation. Ours is a five-year workmanship guarantee, provided in writing, covering the work we carried out.
It is not a maintenance agreement. Wear, damage and lack of maintenance are excluded, as is failure of a product supplied by others.
Product warranties
Windows, boilers, appliances, roofing systems and coatings come with their own manufacturer terms, and several depend on correct installation and on registration after fitting.
Keep the paperwork together, because most claims start with a model number and an installation date.
Maintenance that protects your cover
Clearing gutters, servicing heating appliances, recoating external timber on its cycle, and reporting small defects early are the things that keep both the building and the cover in good order.
Where a defect appears, tell us early. Most things are simple to correct when they are caught at the start.
Common questions
What does your guarantee cover?
A five-year written workmanship guarantee on the work we carry out. Products carry their own manufacturer warranties.
Is a workmanship guarantee the same as insurance-backed cover?
No. Insurance-backed cover exists to protect you if a contractor ceases trading; a workmanship guarantee is the contractor's own commitment.
Does maintenance affect my cover?
Yes. Neglected maintenance — blocked gutters, unserviced appliances, unmaintained external coatings — is normally excluded.
What should I keep?
Certificates, warranties, manuals, finish references and your written guarantee, all in one place.
