Period roofs need a lighter touch
In the medieval centre and on Kent peg-tile cottages, a large dormer on a street-facing roof is unlikely to be accepted, especially in the conservation area or on a listed building. Rooflights or a rear dormer are the usual answer. We are equipped for traditional work, including oak frame repair and sash joinery, so the new rooms sit comfortably inside an old building.
Edwardian terraces and newer homes outside the centre are usually more straightforward, and a rear dormer can add a full-height bedroom.
